SILA Digest Service
Through a partnership with RegEd, SILA is pleased to offer the SILA Digest Service to its members. This service expands the SILA Digest publication offered annually at the SILA conference with an optional subscription service that keeps the regulatory content current throughout the year. The SILA Digest Service becomes available on April 5, 2010.

This new service meets a common need for SILA members who continually search for state licensing and education information required to perform their daily licensing tasks. This new offering, through our business partner, RegEd, will provide you with immediate benefits of staying compliant with regulatory requirements.

Following are more details about this exciting new service:

Questions:  Contact SILA staff with your questions
Since 1997, SILA has provided conference attendees with the SILA Digest publication, a reference tool that includes state responses to popular licensing and education topics in a spreadsheet format.  Because state requirements change often, SILA, through its partnership with RegEd, will keep the contents of the SILA Digest current and subscribers can benefit from regulatory updates to these licensing and education topics throughout the year. The subscription service of providing these updates is what we are calling the SILA Digest Service.

What are the requirements to subscribe to the SILA Digest Service?

The subscription to the SILA Digest Service is only available to SILA members and members must have either attended the national conference to receive the complementary SILA Digest publication, or have purchased the SILA Digest publication. Since the purpose of the SILA Digest Service is to keep the regulatory information contained in the SILA Digest current, the subscription cannot be purchased without first having the SILA Digest publication.

Will we still continue to receive the SILA Digest publication at the conference?

Yes, the SILA Digest publication will still be provided to conference attendees as part of the conference registration fee. There is a change, however, on how these publications will be provided to the 2010 conference attendees. Instead of providing printed SILA Digest booklets at the conference, SILA will email an electronic copy of the SILA Digest to registered attendees prior to the conference. Based on the 2009 conference survey feedback, the vast majority of the attendees were willing to receive the publications electronically. For conference attendees who like to work with their SILA Digest publication at the conference, they can print a copy and bring it with them to the conference.

Can members obtain the SILA Digest publication if they did not attend the conference?

Individuals unable to attend the national conference can purchase the SILA Digest publication, and then choose to subscribe to the SILA Digest Service. The SILA Digest publication can be purchased independently without subscribing to the SILA Digest Service. However, the SILA Digest Service subscription cannot be purchased without attending the conference, or purchasing the SILA Digest publication.
