Plug Yourself In!
SILA, like all volunteer organizations, relies on its members to get involved. One of the best and fastest ways is to join a SILA committee. SILA needs volunteers! We invite you to serve on a committee that matches your interests and expertise.
The time requirement is minimal, and the benefits are enormous. Committees are responsible for the different activities within the SILA organization. Committees help move SILA forward and you’ll gain a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, plus make valuable connections with your colleagues when you serve in this capacity.
Each committee is led by a SILA Board member (liaison). Committee members communicate via email and conference calls. There may also be a committee meeting at the National Education Conference. Committees are open to individuals who hold a SILA membership in good standing.
Education is a core value of SILA. This group concentrates on the expansion and improvement of SILA’s Designation Program; carefully reviewing the content and making appropriate recommendations.

This committee keeps a pulse on the needs and expectations of SILA’s vendor members. The group seeks to involve vendors more deeply with the organization -- at the National Conference and with Chapters. This group may conduct focus groups or conduct surveys to assist the SILA Board of Directors in satisfying the expectations and needs of our vendor members. Everyone is invited to join, both vendors and non-vendors.
