Volunteer Opportunities
Would you like to get more involved in SILA in 2011? We have volunteer opportunities for the various Committees listed below. The amount of time required for these committees is minimal, and the benefits will provide members with networking opportunities, and sharing experience and expertise by working on these specific topics.
To volunteer for a particular committee(s), complete the online committee volunteer form at www.sila.org/volunteer. (Note: you must be signed in as a member to access). Thank you in advance for your increased involvement in SILA! It’s volunteers like you who keep SILA a vibrant organization.
Working Committees:
Conference Planning Committee
The Conference Planning Committee needs volunteers to help plan, budget, organize, and generally oversee the SILA National Conference.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee will work to identify and implement ideas for recruiting and growing SILA membership to include Virtual Chapter development.
Education Committee
The Education Committee will be working to review and make recommendations to expand and improve SILA’s Designation Program, to include education content and expansion.
SILA Adjusters Licensing Subgroup (SALS)
The SILA Adjusters Licensing Subgroup (SALS) is looking for SILA members who are interested in serving on one of the following Task Forces:
- Adding Continuing Education Requirements to the Adjuster Matrix
- Create an Emergency Adjusters Matrix
SILA Surplus Lines Subgroup (SLS)
The SILA Surplus Lines Subgroup is looking for SILA members who are interested in serving on its Steering Committee.
SILA Agency/Carrier Subgroup (SACS)
The SILA Agency/Carrier Subgroup is looking for SILA members who are interested in serving on its Steering Committee.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is looking for two additional committee members who will work together on reviewing SILA’s monthly financial reports, oversee SILA’s budget performance, investments and fundraising activities.
Awards Nomination Committee
The Award Nominations Committee will be responsible for communicating and obtaining nominations needed for the annual SILA awards program.
Board Nominations Committee
The Board Nominations Committee will be responsible for communicating and obtaining nominations needed for the open SILA Board of Directors’ positions in the coming year.
SILA Chapter Development
SILA also has a need for members to form Chapters in their geographic area. Would you consider starting a Chapter? SILA will support you in building and maintaining your Chapter. Please contact Diana Capes at dcapes@sila.org or at 800.428.8329 with any interest you may have to start a chapter.
Securities Committee
SILA is looking for members to participate in the Securities Committee, this is open to industry and vendor members. This committee will share ideas, participate in conference planning, outline best practices
