Vendors' Role In SILA

The purpose of the Securities & Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) is to bring together licensing experts whose occupations encompass all aspects of licensing to discuss solutions to common licensing problems, to provide professional and technical education opportunities, to promote communication and to provide a better understanding of the securities and insurance industries.

Vendors are welcome to become members of SILA. Vendors may promote their products and services at designated Exhibitor Fairs and hospitality suites, and attend the national conference and chapter meetings. Displaying products, any form of solicitation and tours of a vendor's facilities are restricted to designated Exhibitor Fairs, pre/post-meeting hours. Such activities must be approved in advance by SILA.

Vendors may not use the SILA name, SILA logo, SILA national conference and meeting sessions, SILA chapter or SILA membership directory to solicit business or promote products/services from SILA members.

Vendors may contribute articles to the quarterly issues of SILA News. Articles must contain licensing-related information pertinent to the securities and insurance industries. The SILA News is not an opportunity for advertising products or services.

Vendors may participate in SILA chapter activities and meetings, which may include serving as chapter representatives or contact persons. The role of the vendor at any SILA meeting is to provide information that is beneficial to members' professional success in the handling of daily licensing matters.

SILA looks to insurance regulators and state securities regulators to provide valuable information and open communication with its members. Our organization is dedicated to establishing a good working relationship between its members and regulators. Vendors who misuse the SILA name or membership are jeopardizing this valuable relationship between SILA and regulators. Insurance regulators and securities regulators involved in SILA do not in any way endorse a vendor or its products.

SILA recognizes the importance of vendors and their products. We require vendors to conduct themselves in an appropriate and professional manner.
