Each year SILA members are asked to volunteer as participants in the national conference. Volunteer needs range from panelists, moderators, open forum leaders and registration desk workers.
Panelists
Panel sessions usually consist of three to five panel members. Each panel member is responsible for a five-minute presentation on the session topic and provides handouts and/or displays information through a PowerPoint presentation. The broad session topics where subject matter expertise is needed are:

Moderators
Moderators play an important role at the conference by kicking off the sessions on time, introducing speakers, making sure questions and answers are heard by the audience, and end the session on time. There are several Moderator opportunities and volunteers for this role are appreciated.
Open Forum Leaders
We’re looking for energetic meeting leaders who can involve the room in interactive discussions on the popular ‘Best Practices’. We have an opening for a Forum Leader for the following Best Practices topic:

Securities
Registration Desk Workers
SILA members eagerly fill the conference registration desk schedule because they know that this is a great way to greet and meet SILA members. All that is required is a warm smile and knowledge of the alphabet. If you have an hour of time to give to the conference registration desk, please volunteer.
