  • Termination Reasons:  Currently as an insurance carrier when we terminate a producer appointment (not contract) we notify the producer of the termination and within that notification we provide a reason. We are in the process of implementing a new Producer Manager system that does not have the capabilities of adding a "reason" onto their termination notices. My question is do you know if the states require the insurance carriers to provide a reason or just the notice is sufficient?

  • Carrier Appointments and PII - With the announcement of NIPR to no longer require SSNs for appointments (as of 12/15/2017), will this change carriers requiring it to appoint a producer? This has become a hot topic for us as more and more producers, and rightly so, do not want to give their number unless necessary.

  • Payment Assignment Commission Payments -For Individuals that have their payment assignments to a Corporation - do you follow the same licensing guidelines for the Corporation as the individual? We had a situation in which the policy was written 20 days prior to the Corporation obtaining their license but the writing agent had his license.

  • Do you collect E&O when setting up a new agency? Do you require a new copy for your files when the agency renews the E&O? Or do you have the E&O requirements outlined in your agreement and leave it up to the agency to abide by the requirements mentioned in the agreement/contract.
